Intelliant Ocr
Intelliant OCR 1.1.0 version beta has now been released.
There are no upgrade charges for anyone that purchased Intelliant OCR in the
last 12 months and if you purchased prior to that you still get a 50 percent
reduction. This version does not have any new features, but we think you will
appreciate its dramatic enhancements:

Above all, the OCR engine has been entirely rewritten and simplified, and it is
a lot more stable, with less errors, especially on huge documents. The
underlying library, Tiger OCR, is very powerful but it tended to crash on some
complicated images. Fortunately we found ways to work around this problem, and
we start to see the fruit of this labour.

Support of color and gray scale images has been enhanced. Now Intelliant OCR
can process in input all the flavors of the TIFF format. If you still have a
problem, please send us some sample files.

The positioning of words on the pages is more precise.

Performances seem better as we introduced a dose of multithreading into the
application.

Intelliant OCR is an optical character recognition utility, able to
convert scanned archives into a PDF format, including both image and text in a
same standard container. Intelliant OCR increases the value of your
intellectual capital, allowing you to best utilize your image documents with
any search engine.

Above all, it's a commandline application, which means
that it can be very easily integrated in your existing document management
system. As a demonstration, we provide configuration files allowing you to plug
Intelliant OCR into Alfresco ECM "out of
the box". For example, you will be able to define OCR transformations that you
can use within basic content rules (for example, transform to PDF all TIFF
images dropped into a specific folder).

The OCR engine is based on Tiger OCR and it's
remarkably fast. Its brute processing capabilities are one of the
most powerfull ones available today. This is necessary if you want to
be able to make capital out of your voluminous existing image archives.

Intelliant OCR is also very light (the installator weighs
only 5 Mb) and it doesn't require much of computer's resources.

The recognition function makes quite a nice job for the main european
languages.

Several text and image compression methods allow to enormously reduce the size
of the documents.

Input images can be in all the flavours of the TIFF format, even already
encapsulated in a PDF document.

Output documents can be in ASCII format, smart ASCII (tries to produce text as
much like the original image as possible), RTF and PDF. You can specify all
security options and properties (title, author, subject and keywords) in the
version 1.4 of Adobe PDF format.
